DASEIN - "Being There"
by Stefan Haüsl & Bjorn Heregger We present the new movie from the two top international freeriders Stefan Häusl und Björn Heregger... DASEIN, which translates to "Being There", is not a typical freeride-movie. On the one hand it shows pure freeriding with beautiful and moving imagery, on the other hand it centres around the question of survival, of being there for each other on the mountain while at the same time being there for friends and family at home. The movie combines thrilling shots with a topic which concerns every freerider. It is a one of a kind movie about the everyday "normal" life of two extreme skiers, the connection between everyday life and freedom and existing and not existing.
This film documents the fine line professionals skiers live on. On the one hand skiing enables there livelihoods but on the other it could one day take everything away. The risks they take as freeriders on a daily basis play out on a different level to other jobs. Dasein shows pure freeriding and allows the viewer to live their adventure. A major highlight of the movie as well as for Stefan and Bjorn was the decent of the Albonakopf - a particularly difficult challenge due to the steep and exposed terrain, which they captured on helmet cams.
