iF3 Film Festival: London
On Thursday 2nd October Sub Zero Events took over the Clapham Grand for iF3 London. The doors opened at 6:30pm and ski bums arrived in their masses for the International Freeski Film Festival. The evening kicked off with guests enjoying alpine drinks, wandering round the sponsors stands and buying raffle tickets to win some epic prizes. Retail stands included Faction, On the Lip, The Ski Show, Basecamp and Fat Map. Faction athlete, Daniel Hanka took to the stage to introduce the first movie, Faction Skis Episode 3. Next up was Clayton Villas' Five, which was (in Clayton’s own words) a little weird, he likes to make people feel weird...
The Armada Crew arrived fashionably late, just 30 seconds before they were due on stage. Directer, Corey Stanton was joined by Jacob Wester, Kim Boberg (hobbling around on crutches, what a hero) and Mike Hornbeck. After the amazing Oil & Water, the fans flocked to the signing area to meet the athletes. Following the interval was our penultimate movie of the night, winner of the iF3 Award for best cinematography and best short movie, Sweetgrass Productions: Afterglow. After the movie our very own Polar Bear climbed on stage to draw the raffle. With over 30 amazing prizes kindly donated by the sponsors it was, as always one a hell of a raffle! The final screening of the evening was Sean Petit's The Recruitment, which was well received. |
